27-year-old Kyle Crowden of Mountain Home, Idaho has been missing since February 9, 2019, when he set off for a short hike in a remote area off of Bogus Basin Road.  Family members and authorities have relentlessly been searching for Crowden for a good month and a half.

Crowden's vehicle was eventually found at the head of Dry Creek Trail.  Emergency crews did their best to search the area but the cold temperatures and deep snow made it difficult.

Recently a shed hunter came across an area approximately 4,000 feet into Boise County across the Ada County line and saw human remains.  The hunter immediately contacted authorities who waited until the next day to investigate.  Boise County Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Johnson confirmed that the remains were the body of Kyle Crowden.

According to KTVB, the body showed no signs of foul play.  At this time we have no idea what the cause of death was but authorities say Crowden most likely succumbed to the elements and died sometime between 24 to 48 hours of when he set off for the hike.  Because Crowden wasn't prepared for a long hike he didn't have the essentials needed to survive the low temperatures.

Crowden was a very experienced hiker but things happen... even for those with exceptional skills and unfortunately, whatever happened on this tragic day, February 9, 2019, was too much and ultimately took the life of a young man.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Crowden's family.
