It's so exciting to watch country music go through an evolution.  Like everything music needs to evolve in order to sustain. The last couple years were filled with "bro-country" songs talking about tan legs and Fireball but now I think we are seeing a paradigm shift.  Here are my five favorite songs we are playing right now on WOW 104.3.  What are your favorites?  Let us know at morningshow@wow1043.com.

1. Zac Brown Band, Homegrown

This song is ridiculously catchy.  It is classic Zac Brown.  I think the line I've got everything I need and nothing that I don't is genius.  It actually should be on one of those motivational posters or at the very least on a coffee mug.

2. Mickey Guyton, Better Than You Left You Me

I may be a little biased on this one since seeing her perform at Cowgirls on Thursday night.  But this girl slays this song.  She can flat out SING.  I am blown away by her voice, her personality, everything about her screams star!

3. Keith Urban fe. Eric Church, Raise Em' Up

The always consistent Keith Urban teaming up with the outsider Eric Church is pure genius.  Not only that but the song's message is incredible.

You've got a voice, you've got a choice
Go make some noise
Don't ever let em' tell you
Who you are

4. Eric Paslay, She Don't Love You

Are you kidding me with this guy's voice?  This song is kind of old school country. It's like a newer version of George Jones' classic He Stopped Loving Her Today.

5. Little Big Town, Girl Crush

Would you be surprised to hear that I have fielded more angry phone calls and emails on this song in all my years in radio...and it's been a few. =)  I absolutely adore this song.  I can see where some would deem it inappropriate but it's really not.  It is about a woman who is longing to find out what it is about the woman who stole her man.  Please don't think I don't understand why some people find this song offensive, I absolutely do, and I respect that, but really when you listen to the lyrics, it's a beautifully, haunting song of love lost.
