Myths About 1 Shirt 365 Days
Rick and I are on day 307 of wearing the same shirts every day for an entire year in an effort to help bring awareness to the homeless population. Some of you may not completely understand what we mean when we say "1 Shirt 365 Days" so we thought we'd debunk the myths!
- First of all, we are not wearing the same shirt at the same time! Trust me, I would never agree to this. Being locked into 1 big shirt with Rick for an entire year would be awful! He's my BFF, but I don't ever want to be that close with someone for that long!
- Another myth is that we have to coordinate our outfits and that's what "1 Shirt 365 Days" means. For example, if Rick wears a red shirt one day, I have to wear a red shirt. If he wears stripes, I have to wear stripes. That's not how it works :) We each have 1 shirt that we wear each and every day.
- Myth #3 is that we can't wash our shirts. Thank goodness that is not true. We are allowed to wash our shirts every night and we put them back on in the morning. It's a little luxury that we felt was necessary for us and the people around us. You can thank us later!
- Myth #4 is that we have multiple shirts that we switch out. If you look at either one of our shirts (but especially mine) you can see the wear and tear of wearing the same shirts for nearly an entire year. My shirt is so nasty that I have to wear a shirt over it most of the time. Ask to see it if we run into each other though. It's always there!
- The last myth is that we only wear the shirts for pictures. Again, not true. You can call us out any time, at the store, at the park, at concerts, and we'll show you we faithfully wear our shirts every day not only at work, but in our every day lives.
