Shasta watch - 8/13/15 - My old girl is hangin' in there! Thanks to those of you who have sent thoughts, comments and prayers her way!

Shasta, if she makes it that long, will be 14 on September 13th. Her liver is slowly failing and you can see she has an inoperable tumor on her left front leg. We thought we were going to have to say goodbye to her a couple of weeks ago when the tumor broke open and started to bleed. We took her to the vet, but somehow she rallied, and apparently isn't ready to say goodbye to us.

We know she's not going to get better, so she is getting spoiled and loved on right now by my wife and me, and just about anyone else she gets to meet. I think she was getting a bite of a grilled rib-eye steak in the photo above. She's been enjoying grilled salmon, chicken, cheeseburger patties, roast beef from the deli, chicken nuggets and even a bowl of vanilla ice cream with peanut butter.

As I'm writing this, she's sleeping on the floor of the Wow 104.3 Studios.

It will be a sad day when she finally says goodbye, but we can let her go knowing her last few weeks were among her happiest. A big thank you to Dr. Erin Witt, who has been simply awesome, and a big thanks to you Wow Nation, for your thoughts and well wishes!
