Should Kids Be Paid for Chores?

We received a letter this morning and we need your help!!

The letter reads...

Dear Rick & Carly, 

My wife and I have been arguing about whether or not we should pay our 10 year old son an allowance. She thinks he deserves to be paid for his chores and I think he gets free room and board so he should do his chores just because we feed him and let him live with us. What do you think?
