Soda Fire Evacuations Lifted

Owyhee County Sheriff's Office has lifted evacuations for residents near Homedale.

The Sheriff's office set an evacuation order on Wednesday to residents south of Homedale (Cemetery Road, Thompson Road, Graveyard Point Road, Market Road, Reynolds Creek Road).

The evacuations were lifted this morning and residents were informed they can return home.

The Soda Fire is now the third biggest fire in the country with more than 200,000 acres burned. That's about 31 miles long and 10 miles wide.

As of this morning (thursday 8/14) the fire is 11% contained, and highway 95 remains closed at Highway 55.
