Spirit of Boise’s Scott Spencer Receives Key to the City

Wow how cool is this, our very own Scott Spencer has received a key to Boise!

Scott has a long history here in the Treasure Valley, as the founder of our most iconic event, the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. The Boise Depot was where the ceremony was held and Scott and his wife Laurie were in attendance of course.

The first Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic was in 1991, and was a part of the Boise River Festival. Mayor Dave Bieter talked about the joy that the SBBC has brought to the community and Scott is who we owe our gratitude to. The Mayor then awarded Mr. Spencer a key to the city! The Spencers met "ballooning" and have been making memories ever since. They worked for major companies like Re/Max, Coca-Cola and the Walt Disney Company.

Scott has a great love for this valley and anyone who knows him and his wife can tell that instantly. The key to the city is the highest honor a mayor can bestow on a citizen.
