Star Principal Accused of Starving and Beating Children

We trusted him to lead our children and now the Principal of Star Middle School and his wife have been arrested for abusing two kids. 

Tony and Pamela Nelson stand accused of withholding food and hitting two children hard enough to leave bruises. Information has not been released as to whether or not the children involved are the couple's own kids.

According to KTVB, the couple was indicted by a grand jury on multiple felony counts of injury to a child. They turned themselves into the police on Friday and there is no word as to what motivated the pair to turn themselves in. In the indictment, it states that Tony and/or Pamela Nelson ...

• withheld food from the children to the point that they became malnourished.
• hit at least one of the children with a spoon, leaving bruising on the boy's buttocks.
• allowed one of the children to be locked in a room and/or isolated causing extreme mental suffering.

The abuse allegedly happened between January of 2016 and January of 2019. Tony Nelson has been placed on paid administrative leave by the West Ada School District and if convicted they each face up to ten years behind bars.
