Paula Meyer is an avid runner and a Spanish teacher at Appleton North High School.

When her school closed down in March and her races were canceled due to COVID-19, Meyer decided to make her own routes for three half marathons that would put her going past her students' homes on the way. Since this decision, she has ran just over 40 miles since March and passed 35 to 40 students' homes. She shared with WLUK that she likes to keep an element of surprise so she doesn't tell the kids when she will be running past their house.

Sometimes the kids meet her outside to say hello, or they leave her waters. And all Meyer wants from it, is for her students to hopefully remember.

She says, "I am no wonder woman. I'm just somebody that's determined to put one foot in front of the other until I finish. [...] I want them to believe that they can, that they can do whatever they set their minds to."
