Boise Towne Square Mall Loses Another Store

Another store at the Boise Towne Square Mall will soon close, possibly on February 16th. Volcom, the popular surf and skate brand, will close its doors in 2025. This is part of a nationwide plan to close all Volcom, Quicksilver, and Billabong stores in the U.S. following Liberate Brands' Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. This will impact not only the mall but also those who might have gift cards to use.

Why Is Volcom Leaving Boise Towne Square Mall?

Volcom's parent company, Liberated Brands, has been facing financial struggles, along with many others. Rising inflation, shifting consumer spending habits after COVID-19, and the escalating cost of operations have pushed the company to cease brick-and-mortar operations across the country.

Important Notice on Gift Cards and Loyalty Rewards

If you have Volcom gift cards, you had better use them and use them fast. According to a notice posted by Volcom under their store locator:

The site also said a "revamped Volcom.com coming in April." After calling the Volcom store at the Mall, an employee at the store, when asked when the last day the store was going to be open, said that they told them about "10-12 weeks." So, that could be sometime in April, which makes sense from the website posting.

Unfortunately, this announcement comes shortly after Kohl's announced that they are closing their store at the Boise Towne Square Mall, which is expected to happen in April this year.
