The Mission Hill area of the city is statistically the most dangerous. The other neighborhoods to be careful of are listed here.

Today, we're focusing on the safest neighborhoods in Boise. The places in the city where residents aren't concerned about violent or property crimes. These are places where home values have increased exponentially because of their safety.

Neighborhood Scout compiles statistics about neighborhoods all over the country. Their crime statistics are based on reports from all reporting agencies, not just the Boise Police Department. The types of crimes in the report include violent crimes and property crimes like burglary, larceny, and car theft.

The numbers show that Greenwood Circle at Montvista Avenue is the safest neighborhood with a crime index of 91. That means that it's safer than 91% of all communities in America. The chance of being a victim of a violent crime in this area is 1 in 1,053. Meanwhile, the rest of Idaho is 1 in 447.

Greenwood Circle and Montevista Avenue slightly outranked the Barber area, which is safer than 90% of America.

Stacker used data from the 2020 County Health Rankings to rank every state's average life expectancy from lowest to highest. The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
