Things To Do Before You Travel

I've made this mistake before. You're shopping while you're on vacation and then suddenly your card is declined. Ahhh!!!

Make sure you call your bank and credit card companies to let them know your dates of travel and what cities you'll be visiting, so it doesn't freeze your account.

I'm traveling out of the country, so I needed to get some different currency.

I wasn't sure whether to get it at the airport, or just wait until I arrived to the country.

A friend of mine suggested to go to my bank and exchange the money there. They have the best rates for different currency. Plus, you can tell them about your travel plans so they can make a note (tip #1). Two birds with one stone.

While we're on the subject...make sure to make copies of your passport and leave them with a friend here in the states!

Make sure you call your cell phone provider to let them know you'll be traveling.

They have different options for you when if comes to using your phone abroad.

Sometimes they may charge a fee, but-trust me- it will be cheaper than your surprise roaming fees!!
