Yes, I'm one of the many proud parents in The Treasure Valley who has a senior in high school signing on the dotted line today to play college ball. This is my daughter Ireland.  We've spent money, time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears getting Ireland to this day.  I love how all the kids playing NCAA ball, in any sport, are signing at the same time, on the same day, from all over the country.  It's almost like they're all family.

A lot of proud mamas and papas today.  These kids have sacrificed and given a lot.  Homework, jobs, life, all on top of a rigorous schedule that takes up most of their time when it comes to training, games, league, tournaments, and traveling.

Ireland started soccer when she was just 3 years old.  She's now a young, strong, talented, incredible human being.  She, just like all these great athletes has had her own challenges along the way.  Ireland was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 10 years old.  Her blood / sugar level would constantly drop or go sky high when playing.  Even though she monitored herself closely, taking shots of insulin before, during, and after each game... she sometimes just couldn't find the energy to play well.  After pushing through all the difficulties and trials, my baby's signing on to play for the University of Utah in the PAC 12 today.  Yay!!

A lot of great families right here in the Treasure Valley are celebrating their beautiful children today.  Only a parent who's been on this ride can know how much it actually means.  I tip my hat to all of you who gave so much, so your child could have so much opportunity.  I wish I could hug every one of these kids and tell them congratulations.
