Treasure Valley Uber Eats Drivers: The Heroes We Need

Who picked up an Uber Eats habit when the pandemic hit in March of 2020? And who hasn't broken the habit a year and a half later? I'm raising my hand. In fact, I even have Uber Eats Pass, which is a $9.99/mo subscription that eliminates delivery and service fees on orders over $15. Let's face it, I think even without the fees we are spending over $15 an order. So it's definitely worth it. But this isn't an ad for Uber. It's a thank you to the fine people of the Treasure Valley who go out of their way to deliver exceptional customer service as Uber Eats delivery people.

It's been a crazy week with the start up of school and just work things, so ordering food has been the move. And my delivery people (There were 3 this week) were on top of their customer service game. On two occasions, the restaurant was delayed in making my order and my delivery people were quick to give detailed updates on what was happening as well as offered to add something else to the order to appease me. I'm not even sure if that's technically allowed, but I thought that was really kind of cool.

The third order of the week had one eatery flat out not having what I ordered and I had to choose replacement items. I did, and that was fine. But I thought it was absolutely sweet that my food came with two notes: one expressing condolences that I had to change one of my orders, and the other wishing me a beautiful weekend. It made my night. It's the little things.

I know obviously that delivery drivers are working for tips, but they do deserve it. So tip them well. It would be awful if we had to go back to the days of picking up our own food.
