My daughter goes to The University of Utah so when I first heard this story my heart sunk for this poor girl, and then I thought, "what if that's my daughter Ireland?"  I immediately reached out, she answered and I felt so blessed that she was okay but in the following moments I felt so bad for the family of this girl going through something none of us could possibly imagine.

The girl was 23-year-old Mackenzie Lueck who was a student at the U of U and was last seen 11 days ago when she took a 'Lyft' ride to a park late at night.  The Lyft driver stated he saw her meet someone at the park and the two of them looked very comfortable together so he figured she knew him.  KTVB just reported that this morning, 11 days after Mackenzie Lueck had gone missing, police have found Lueck's body murdered and burned and buried in the yard of Ayoola A. Ajayi who is now being charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, and desecration of a body.

SWAT moved in quickly this morning to detain and arrest Ajayi who did not put up a fight and went peacefully.  A press conference came minutes later with Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown behind the microphone delivering a very tough and emotional statement.

Lueck's parents live in California and were notified immediately after Ajayi's arrest this morning.  I can't imagine that phone call.  I just want to put my arms around this family and cry with them.  I feel guilty that my daughter is literally walking the campus of the University of Utah right now and theirs is not.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I hope that God somehow can give you comfort and I hope that your little girl is in a place now that's safe and beautiful waiting for the day that her family can join her again.
