Bob and Florence Goar were taking a daily stroll walking at a crosswalk in Boise at Milwaukee Street exactly one month ago today.  It was the last walk this couple who were just about to celebrate their 61st anniversary together would ever take.  An SUV smashed into both of them taking Florence's life quickly after the accident.  Bob was hospitalized and died nine days later.  Most feel he died from a broken heart.

Tonight, Bob and Florence Goar will not be forgotten as Treasure Valley residents gather together and walk in their memory.  This 'Walk Of Silence' has been put together by the Idaho Walk Bike Alliance who say they're not just walking for the Goars.  Tonight they walk for all of our Treasure Valley crash victims.

If you're interested in joining, the walk begins in just a few minutes.  Here are the specific details...

  • 5:30 p.m.
  • Rain or Shine
  • Starts at Corner of Northview and Christine Streets
  • Ends at Intersection of Northview and Milwaukee

KTVB reports that there will be a small gathering and a few words spoken at the end of the walk.
