If you’ve been straining to decipher that one line in your new favorite summertime jam from Keith Urban, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” you can back away from the speakers, because the lyric video has made its debut.
The video has a somewhat early-‘90s-inspired vibe, featuring neon, graffiti-style words on a black background, which compliments the carefree coming-of-age attitude of the song.

“John Cougar…” is already becoming the go-to feel-good song blaring at cookouts and beach hangs after its first live performance on the CMT Music Awards. It’s a tale of the building of an identity as a young person growing up in America’s heartland, brimming with pop culture references and symbols of classic scenes of Americana.
It’s the first single off Urban’s upcoming album, which has yet to set a release date.
Keith has been playing the festival circuit this summer with details at Keith Urban.net.
