Will Broadway Bridge Be Open for BSU Opener?

Will it be a traffic nightmare, or smooth sailing on a brand new bridge come Sept. 10?

According to the Idaho Statesman, Idaho Transportation Department spokesman Reed Hollinshead said the Broadway bridge will be open, but "don’t know how many lanes it will be,”

Here are some facts about the new bridge:

• total cost: $20.2 million
• savings $3.5 million (due to construction time being cut from 18mths to 9mths.
• traffic lanes increased from 4 to 6
• 10-foot-wide sidewalks
• 18-foot-wide scenic overlooks on either side
• remodeled access to greenbelt
