Zinger! California & Idaho Have Something In Common For The Holidays
In the vast and diverse landscape of the United States, each state holds its unique allure for holiday vacationers. However, according to a recent study by Gambling.com, Idaho has surprisingly landed on the list of the top 10 worst states for a holiday vacation.
Nestled in the rugged northwest, Idaho is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, from the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the undulating landscapes of the Snake River Plain. But despite its scenery, it seems that Idaho does not sparkle as brightly during the holiday season.
The study took into account several factors, such as snow likelihood, availability and affordability of accommodations, the number of winter markets, shopping facilities, and overall festive atmosphere. Unfortunately, Idaho fell short in these categories, dimming its holiday appeal.
Idaho's snow likelihood, although substantial in some areas like Sun Valley, is inconsistent across the state, making it less reliable for those dreaming of a white Christmas. The state's winter market count and shopping facilities also lag behind other states, reducing its charm for those who revel in holiday shopping sprees.
Furthermore, while Idaho offers a range of accommodations, the availability and affordability during the peak holiday season can be challenging, making it less attractive for budget-conscious travelers. The overall festive atmosphere, although subjective, was also deemed lacking compared to the vibrant holiday celebrations in states like New York, Colorado, or California.
It's important to note that while this study paints a less flattering picture of Idaho during the holidays, it doesn't diminish the state's year-round beauty, outdoor activities, and welcoming residents. Nevertheless, for the quintessential holiday experience, travelers might want to look beyond Idaho's borders. Source
