This year has not been good to Idaho with fatal automobile accidents and drownings while recreating on various sections of the Payette River.  A Boise family who did everything right is now screaming the question: WHY?".

I was thumbing through KTVB this morning and came across this sad, tragic story.  10-year-old Maximus Samuel Hansen was kayaking with his family on the South Fork of the Payette River near Lowman.  The entire family had life jackets on and they weren't getting crazy kayaking in areas with rapids or too rough for them to handle.

A recent storm had blown over a tree in an area that Maximus was in and that's where it happened.  The tragedy took place on Wednesday and by the time Maximus reached St. Luke's Boise Medical Center, he was pronounced dead.

At this time, this family needs our prayers.  If you know the Hansens, let them know from all of us here in the Treasure Valley that we're thinking of them.  We're all so sorry for your loss.
