Piper Reed was just 34-years-old. She had her Golden Retriever with her as she was traveling along HWY 75 yesterday south of Ketchum when the 2007 white Toyota pickup she was driving was hit head-on.

Behind the wheel of the other vehicle, a 2010 black Volvo, was 82-year-old Peter Jarvis and his wife Sally.  For reasons unknown at this point Jarvis crossed the center line and hit the Toyota.

According to KTVB, the crash happened just before 10 a.m. yesterday south of Elkhorn Road. Everyone was wearing their seatbelt but it wasn't enough to save them. Peter Jarvis died at the scene while his wife Sally later passed away at the hospital. Piper Reed also succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital and unfortunately, her Golden Retriever didn't make it either.

The crash remains under investigation. Please keep everyone who knew and loved these people in your thoughts and prayers today and in the many tough days ahead. It's accidents like this that scare me the most. They were all wearing their seatbelts and who knows what went wrong? Be careful out there.
