Tragedy has struck again in the Treasure Valley. This time claiming the life of a man who was just 39 years old.

David Cotten was involved in an accident at about 10:38 p.m. last night when he veered off to the left side of the road, overcorrected, lost control and rolled near exit 29 in Caldwell along I-84.

Unfortunately, this accident is another reminder to buckle up. Cotten was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown from the vehicle, which ultimately caused his untimely death.

According to KTVB, Cotten was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. He passed away this morning from his injuries.

I don't know how many times a deadly accident has to happen for us all to learn to take that extra couple seconds and buckle up. I've been guilty of this myself, but it is so worth it to put that seatbelt on.

Our thoughts and prayers are with David Cotten's family and everyone who loved him.
