Best Dive Bar in Idaho
Are you a dive bar fan? I've never been a big fan of that scene, but if you love a good dive bar, this is apparently the best one in Idaho and it's right here in Boise.
msn.com recently conducted a study on the best dive bars around the country. If you're looking for a little education on dive bars, back in the day they used to be strictly illegal establishments, but today they are defined as a bar with a hidden entrance, or a bar that isn't fancy but has character. Dive bars usually have "regulars," are open during the day, and offer up cheap drinks.
As for Idaho, Cactus Bar has been deemed the best in the state when it comes to dive bars. They're open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., offer up cheap strong drinks including $2 wells and $2 domestic drafts.
You'll find them at 517 W. Main St. in downtown Boise. They've been open since 1936 and it still has a 1930's feel. They say if you're looking for a casual watering hole Cactus Bar is just the place you've been looking for.
