This one wasn't even close.  According to KTVB, the Bill to legalize the use of Hemp here in Idaho passed this morning (Monday) by a huge margin with only seven votes by lawmakers in opposition.

For those of us that need an education in this area (I'm raising my hand right now), remember that Hemp is different than Marijuana.  If this Bill goes through it DOES NOT mean we can all start lighting up our bongs and sing Kumbaya.  Marijuana is used for medicinal or recreational purposes. Hemp is used in healthy dietary supplements, skin products, clothing, and accessories. Overall, hemp is known to have over 25,000 possible applications. Things are looking very good for this Bill.  The legislative budget-writing committee has already approved money for equipment that'll help the Idaho State Police tell the difference between Hemp and Marijuana when testing.  That's always been the big debate here.  For almost 50 years now, politicians, authorities, and us, as a society have been uneducated on the difference which is why this is still an issue.  People are becoming more educated now.  This Bill isn't passing because our lawmakers want us all to start lighting it up and eating cookies all day.  This Bill is passing because HEMP IS NOT MARIJUANA and there's absolutely no reason for it NOT to be legal.
