A suspect is in custody after a man walked into a Boise bank and demanded cash.

The incident happened about 3 o'clock this afternoon at a bank off of 16th Street and State. The suspect walked up to a teller, demanded cash, and walked away with an undisclosed amount of money according to KTVB. Luckily, the suspect did not display any weapons, but having been a former bank teller who was robbed three times in this manner I can assure you the situation is terrifying and traumatizing none the less.

Lowell Elementary is in close enough proximity to the bank that the school was put on lockdown for about thirty minutes as a precautionary measure.

The suspect, who fled on foot, was caught near 32nd Street and State and arrested.

Boise police say the bank robbery will continue to be investigated.
