If there's one thing Idahoans know how to protect, it's their land. If there is someone or something planning on invading anything in Idaho, they better come prepared.

Unfortunately for people in the Boise Bench, there is an invasion taking place, and people want something done about it.

What's Going On In The Boise Bench?

If you live in Boise and are active on social media, you need to check out Facebook groups for the Boise Bench, most notably Boise Bench Dwellers.

It was there that we learned armies of bunnies were moving in on the Bench territory and looking to take over. According to one popular post in the group:

"We estimate that there are around 500 to 600 rabbits in our community now, and it all began with one irresponsible decision: a person who was moving got tired of caring for two rabbits (one male, one female) and simply let them loose."

Several people chimed in with their concerns on the post, and they all bring up valid concerns - these bunnies are creating some serious problems.

Some people in the group have reported damage to their landscaping, damaged sheds, and dangerous predators coming to the area looking for a fluffy meal. As the post we shared pointed out, bunnies have no issue reproducing and do so at a high rate.

What Can Be Done To Stop The Bunny Invasion?

In the initial post, it was also shared that residents of the Boise Bench have reached out to the Idaho Humane Society for assistance.

"Thankfully, the Idaho Humane Society (IHS) are great resources leading the effort to trap these rabbits and working on making a dent in the problem," the post read.

"If you've seen these rabbits in your neighborhood or want to help, please contact these organizations directly. Together we can address this humanely before it grows even further out of control."
