Details Emerge About New Facility For Boise’s Pro Soccer Team
It's finally happening - Boise is getting a pro sports team! We know - you've probably been aware of this for some time but Ada County recently revealed the details surrounding the new facility that will be housing Boise's first official pro sports team.
Where Will Boise's New Soccer Team Be Playing?
In a statement that was released on Monday (2/24), Ada County shared details about a "world-class soccer facility on the Expo Idaho Property."
The project will be using "zero tax dollars" to create what officials are describing as a "first-of-its-kind facility in Idaho." The lease and development agreement is for 30 years and was signed by Ada County Commissioners on Friday, February 21.
We would expect that some people might be upset by a new development coming to Boise but at least we're not paying for it, right? Also, this isn't going to be some "Mickey Mouse operation", Ada County is taking the project seriously as they're expecting it to help other projects.
"Boise Pro Soccer will upgrade and remodel Ada County’s Turf Club and Grandstands at Expo Idaho and build professional soccer fields where horses used to race ten years ago," the press release read.

Revenue from the new facility will supposedly pay for the maintenance and upkeep of The Park at Expo Idaho.
"The two areas will be adjacent to one another creating an oasis of outdoor spaces and sports facilities that will attract visitors from around the northwest," the release said.
