When the cops are on your tail, you may do just about anything in an attempt to get them to leave you alone. This man tried to pretend he was asleep!

38-year-old Rolando Castillo of Caldwell led police on a high-speed chase Thursday at about 12:43 a.m. after he drove around a "Road Closed" sign on Ustick.

Police tried to pull Rolando over at Ashton Avenue and Ustick, but he refused to stop. At one point, Castillo became so aggressive that he flipped around and headed straight towards the patrol car and the officer had to swerve to avoid being hit.

According to an article on KTVB, that details the crime, Castillo reached speeds of 70 MPH along Ustick, which if I remember correctly is a 35 MPH zone.

From there, Castillo turned into a mobile home park and reached speeds of 60 MPH through the residential area. He then decided to hop out of his SUV and into the backyard of one of the mobile homes and then hopping the fence into the front yard.

Turns out the vehicle was registered to that same home, and the woman inside told police the home belonged to her.

Castillo must have been really tired at this point because he was eventually found just inside the door with another male and a female pretending to be asleep!

Police found $1355 in cash on Castillo, plus 17.6 grams of meth, scales, a holster, 9 mm ammunition, and a stole handgun from Meridian.

Rolando Castillo has been charged with felony counts of eluding, assault on an officer, grand theft, resisting and obstructing, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and violating his parole.

He is currently sitting in the Canyon County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
