Can you imagine one of your pets getting shot by your neighbor? Ugh, I can't even imagine. I mean, I know my dogs are little turds sometimes, but I just can't even fathom any of my neighbors (who are all dog owners) even thinking of hurting my animals. So you can imagine how one Boise woman felt after she realized her cat had been shot with a pellet gun.

According to KTVB, Genny Goldy's cat, Cheeto (who's an indoor/outdoor cat), was on its usual morning stroll through their neighborhood near Ustick and Five Mile. But after Cheeto was talking a little longer than usual Genny got a little worried. She checked his tracker and it seemed like he was heading back home. Later she heard a loud meow at the doggy-door. It was Cheeto, and he was bleeding. According to KTVB, after taking him to the vet, they discovered he'd been shot with a pellet gun and the small bullet "traveled through the cat's spleen, colon and stomach and was lodged in left wall of his stomach." Unfortunately, Cheeto didn't make it.

Genny believes she knows who is responsible, but without proof or witnesses, there's nothing that could be done legally. She says that if something good could come of it, it's to warn others in her neighborhood. If you feel someone is being malicious to their animals, call animal control at (208) 343-3166.
