Congrats Katie! Winner of New Furnace from Drake Mechanical

There is no doubt 2020 was a rough year. For many, the financial repercussions caused essential needs like heat to be put on hold. For one Treasure Valley family in need that is all going to change. In partnership with Drake Mechanical we were able to answer prayers for one Treasure Valley Family. We had tons of submissions come through and truly wanted to give to all of the nominations. There were tears and a lot of back and forth trying to pick a winner. While we wanted to help every family we had to pick one. Katie was the grand winner for this year's Families Helping Families Heat up the Holidays.

The experts from Drake Mechanical came out and installed a new furnace for Katie and her family. They have a year supply of filters and are ready for a nice toasty winter and for many many winters to come. I was able to go out and meet Katie and her two kind teenage boys to see the finished install. It was wonderful to see the gratitude and happiness and relief it brought. The whole team from Drake Mechanical is incredible.

Here is the nomination from her friend: "Katie is a single mom with two teenage boys. She works long hours at multiple jobs to take care of her family. Things are tight. Her furnace has been broken for two weeks and this would be a great blessing for her."

And from her sister: "My sister's furnace broke 3 weeks ago and she hasn't had the money to fix it. She is a single mom who works 2 jobs as a nurse and a package delivery person. They have been burning wood like crazy to keep their old house warm. Please help out someone who needs taking care of when she takes care of everyone else."
