Country Legend Merle Haggard Dies at 79

Legendary singer, songwriter, and musician, Merle Haggard has passed on his 79th birthday.

Haggard died in hospice care today after battling pneumonia.

A pioneer in the 'Bakersfield' sound, Merle Haggard recorded more than 70 albums, 600 songs and had 40 #1singles. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994.
