Cyanide Kills Dog, Injures child in Pocatello

The trap was set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

A 14-year-old was injured and his 3-year-old lab killed after coming in contact with a cyanide trap meant to kill coyotes in Pocatello.

According to KTVB, The boy was taken to the hospital to be tested for cyanide poisoning, but was later released.

The device, meant for killing coyotes, is typically smeared in bait and shoots cyanide into the mouth of the animal when the trap is tugged at.
