West Nile Virus scares me to death. My daughter recently came home from a camping trip with her Dad and she was covered with 42 mosquito bites. Besides her being uncomfortable, West Nile Virus was my biggest concern.

The scary thing is, West Nile Virus can be in your system and not present any symptoms initially which is super scary. In fact according to Wikipedia, 80% of the time the infected person has no symptoms at all. If you do get signs they can include

  • fever
  • headache
  • lethargy
  • muscle pain
  • nausea
  • rash

It's not common for West Nile to affect the Central Nervous System, but it can and it can be deadly.
