Deadly Halloween Crash On U.S. 20 Kills One Man

32-year-old Michael Surette was driving his 2011 BMW westbound on US 20 near milepost 393, in Island Park yesterday afternoon around 4:30.  At this time we don't know exactly what happened to make Surette lose control of his vehicle but he ended up crossing over onto the other side of the highway smashing into a 1994 Peterbilt semi-truck with trailer.

According to East Idaho News the woman in the semi was wearing her seatbelt and ended up o.k.  Surette was not wearing a seatbelt and unfortunately was pronounced dead at the scene.  His family and friends have been notified.  Traffic was at a halt for about four hours but is back up and running now.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Michael Surette's family.
