Dogs Banned from Downtown
Several dog attacks have prompted this city to ban dogs!
According to KTVB, the city of Eugene, Ore. has banned dogs from their downtown area, at least until November.
This is after the City of Eugene admitted they have a "safety problem after several dog attacks and a woman was bitten."
This is a pilot program that will last six months and it applies to twelve blocks of the downtown core. Police K-9s, dogs whose owners live or work in the area, and trained service dogs are exempt from the ban, however.
For the first few weeks, people will get away with a warning and education, but citations could be as much as $250.
If the city council finds that the program makes the downtown area safer, they could vote to extend the ban past November.
WHAT IF BOISE IMPOSED THIS BAN??? HOW WOULD YOU REACT?
