My friends outside of Idaho absolutely love hearing stories about hidden yurts in the snowy mountains where you get to pack in your belongings in the winter and get warm with a group in front of a raging fire.  Many states don't have anything even remotely close to the yurts in Idaho. It's another reason we are so lucky to live here.

Parks and Rec in Idaho manages 6 yurts and tomorrow, January 9th you can go tour 2 of these for free!  Both Rocky Ridge and Whispering Pines in Idaho City are open from 9-4 tomorrow.

Lots of these revolve around snowshoeing and cross country skiing but who says you can't go and relax in the middle of the woods in front of a roaring fire for a few days?!  Dogs are allowed for the tour too.  These yurts usually sleep up to 6 people and have a modest rental fee.  Check out this link for more details.
