Fresno IS The Armpit Of America

Fresno is the armpit of America, and it's time they embraced their 'armpitness.'

The play-by-play guy for Hawaii signed off his broadcast the other night by saying "Goodnight from the armpit of America." Obviously, people in Fresno were ticked off and complained.  So, the broadcaster apologized.  There is absolutely no reason for him to apologize.

First of all, as most BOISE State fans know, Fresno isn't exactly a vacation destination.  Secondly, you have to consider the source. The dude is from Hawaii. Every other place on the planet is sort of the armpit of America compared to an island paradise. Finally, if the calls and emails we received this morning on the show are any indication, most people from Fresno realize they are the armpit of America.

It's time Fresno embraced who they are.  Change the sign at the city limits: "Welcome to Fresno, the armpit of America."  Sell T-shirts.  Make bumperstickers.  Turn it into a thing.  How about this for a chamber of commerce slogan: "Want to appreciate where you're from?  Come visit Fresno and you'll never complain again."
