Garth Brooks Does Not Want CMA’s Entertainer of the Year

Garth Brooks is making it clear he is very grateful for the 7 awards he has won. He says 7 is his lucky number and he wants others to win so he has asked to NOT be considered this year or in any future years, even though we was nominated again. One of his 7 awards was won last year which brought up some controversy with fellow country star Eric Church who at a concert shortly after the CMAs changed some lyrics to make it clear he was unhappy.

According to Taste of Country Brooks still wants to be considered for all other CMA awards and for all ACM awards moving forward but after the negativity last year, he doesnt want anymore Entertainer of the Year from the CMAs. He knew this for a long time but was wanting to wait for the right time to say it but COVID pandemic made no time a good time so he just decided to make the announcement yesterday.
