Insomnia sucks.

It’s been going on for about two weeks now.  I am totally in the grips of insomnia and it’s making me bananas.  I stare at the ceiling at night, toss and turn, and generally suffer until the alarm goes off.  Alana says it’s because it's staying lighter later.  But I have my lavender-scented sleep mask, so I don’t think that’s it.  I've tried drinking warm milk, I've tried drinking room-temperature scotch, and I've tried not drinking anything whatsoever, all to no avail.

 

Yesterday I was so tired that while standing in the shower I found my mind drifting off and thought about Jack Nicholson in “The Shining.”  Look what insomnia (and the occasional demonic possession) did to him!  I found myself sympathizing with him.  When you start sympathizing with the killer in the movie, you realize you may have a problem.
