Highway 21 Closed AGAIN
This time, it's because of a 'washout'.
First it was due to heavy snowfall and how, all that snow melt is the problem.
According to KTVB, the Idaho Transportation Department has closed a 15-mile section of highway 21 to repair a 'washout'. Large chunks of the roadway are now in the river, making for some seriously dangerous driving conditions.
The area that is closed is between Eight Mile Creek Road and the Custer-Boise County Line (23 to 38 miles south of Stanley), or milepost 91 to 105.5
You are urged to find an alternate route if you were thinking of heading up to Stanley this weekend.
There's no timeline on when repairs will be completed.
