After hundreds of submissions, the Capitol Christmas tree has been chosen.

The Statehouse is officially in the Christmas spirit. A 35-foot Colorado spruce from the North End neighborhood in Boise has been chosen as the Idaho Captiol Christmas tree and is now on display.

It received a police escort earlier today and will be decorated throughout the week.

Al and Jean Day planted the Colorado Spruce two decades ago, and they called the Department of Administration to have it considered as THEE tree, and it was!

Gov. Butch Otter and the First Lady, Lori Otter, will host the tree lighting ceremony Monday, November 23rd at 5:30p
