Idaho Death Toll Released After 100 Deadliest Days of Summer
The number is shocking, and when you think of how many people have ultimately been affected by the lives lost this summer it's heartbreaking. This is precisely why they call it the "100 Deadliest Days of Summer" and 2018 was a rough one.
The official total is in, 101 people have lost their lives on Idaho's roads just since Memorial Day.
According to idahonews.com, 14 people died in Ada County, compared to 9 people last year.
Canyon County's death toll quadrupled from 3 fatalities last year to 12 this year.
Overall there were 90 deaths on Idaho's roads in 2017 and we are up by 11 this year.
It's a total that we obviously need to reduce someway somehow. I know police were out in full force over the Labor Day weekend looking for impaired drivers, but we still had fatalities, two of them claiming the lives of very young men from Nampa, 21-year-old Ethan Hayes, and 18-year-old Austin Smith.
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by these horrible accidents, all while trying to have a little summer fun.
