Idaho Firefighter Scam

The Idaho State Fire Marshall's Office is alerting restaurant owners and employees about a scam going down in our own backyard.

Someone's calling and identifying themselves as local fire fighters and they're asking restaurants to activate their fire suppression systems.

Firefighters are like the IRS.  The IRS will never call you on the phone demanding payment.  And fire fighters will never contact you, by phone, and ask you to activate this, fire alarms, or anything else.  If you get this call... just hang up!

Professionals are the only ones that should be testing these systems and under controlled circumstances.  Activating fire suppression systems costs thousands of dollars and hours of lost time.

When the activation begins, the local fire department is alerted and responds to the scene.  Felony charges are awaiting those caught.  If you have info as to who's doing this... please contact the Idaho State Fire Marshall's office at 208-334-4250.
