There are plenty of things to watch for on Idaho roads, but this...this is new.

"Watch for rock", "deer crossing",we've seen those warning on Idaho roads before, but if you're traveling on highway 200 near Sandpoint, Idaho, there is something much more strange you should be watching out for. Turtles.

Yes, 'turtles crossing" signs have been placed along that stretch of road to warn drivers that our cute little slow-poke friends would like to cross the road safely.

The sign came to be after a concerned resident -who helps hatch wild turtles on her property - contacted the Idaho Transportation Department to put signs up. ITD contacted Idaho Fish and game to know if there were enough turtles to justify a sign.

Guess there were.
