The flag, which features a blue background with the state seal in the center, aims to represent Idaho's primary industries: mining, agriculture, and forestry. Despite its meaningful elements, the flag's design does not leave a lasting impression on those who see it.

The blue backdrop and intricate seal, while full of significance, lack the standout qualities needed to make the flag easily memorable. This has led to Idaho's flag being deemed the most forgettable among all state flags in the United States.

California's State Flag: An Iconic Emblem

In stark contrast, California boasts the most recognizable state flag, with an impressive 88.8% of quiz participants able to identify it. The flag's design is striking and iconic, featuring a bold image of a grizzly bear. The California flag, also known as the Bear Flag, was first flown in 1846 during the Bear Flag Revolt, an act of rebellion against Mexico.

The flag's simple yet powerful design elements, the majestic grizzly bear, and the star, make it easily distinguishable and memorable. Its historical significance and visual appeal have cemented it as a beloved symbol of the state.
