Idaho’s First Medical School: Will it Happen?
There's one BIG step that needs to happen for construction to begin.
Idaho could soon be a top choice for medical students. Construction on Idaho's first four-year medical school is set to begin at the end of the month. Except, there's one problem.
According to KTVB, the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, must first get per-accredited before any ground-breaking could happen.
The Dean of the school, Dr. Hasty, told KTVB that "they are hopeful they will have that pre-accreditation soon and says he is happy with where they are in the process."
Once they receive accreditation, and the construction is completed, ICOM plans to have 150 students per class, with classes beginning August 2018.
