Craving the beach, but you just can't make it to the coast?! No worries, we've got a hidden beach right here in the Treasure Valley that not many people know about.

Sure, there is Eagle Island State Park and Quinns Pond, but this beach in Emmett is even more legit.

Black Canyon Dam is one of Idaho's "best-kept secrets" according to onlyinyourstate.com. It's a long sandy beach along a reservoir and with only a $5 per vehicle entrance fee, it makes for the perfect summer getaway.

The best thing about Black Canyon Dam is the sand. While rocky sand can be found at Eagle Island and Quinn's Pond, the sand at Black Canyon Dam is said to be soft and perfect for building sandcastles!

Black Canyon Dam also has plenty of water to go skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, and rafting, making it a perfect alternative to Lucky Peak.

I can't wait to explore this place! The longer I live here the more I realize just how much Idaho has to offer.

Black Canyon Dam can be found at 5555 E. Black Canyon Hwy in Emmett.

Here are some other little known beaches around the state you may want to check out.
