According to KTVB there was a pursuit this morning in Post Falls, Idaho.  The Kootenai County Sheriff Department re ports that a vehicle caught the eye of a deputy in Post Falls when it was spotted driving way too fast and recklessly.  The pursuit was close to the West Prairie Avenue and North Huetter Road area.

Unfortunately the young man driving recklessly was not driving a seat belt and the chase finally ended with a severe crash which ejected the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.  The identity of the driver is 20-year-old Patrick J. Calligan.  Calligan's vehicle crashed just north of Seltice Way.  The Idaho State Police have issued a full investigation.

Who knows what led to this chase but I will say it was probably nothing worth losing a life over.  A young man doing or did something dumb, caught up in the moment that ended up leading to the last moment of his life.  It's a sad story that we see way too often.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
