Can I at LEAST get a small "thank you wave?" Some small sign of appreciation from you, acknowledging that you made me hit the brakes and cause a chain reaction of drivers behind me to do the same?  All because you had to race up the lane that runs out and force your way in?  Is a small "nod" or "wave" of appreciation to much to ask?

I'm talking to you Mr. BMW, the guy in the black BMW that raced past all the cars in the lane that DOESN'T run out. You know...those of us that are trying to be courteous and wait our turn.

I was the one you jammed your way in front of last night at Chinden and Eagle, near the entrance to Banbury.  I was the one that hit my brakes so you could get over in front of me. Did you not wave or show any sign of thanks because you knew you were driving like a dink? Maybe you knew it, and you just don't care?  Is it the expensive car that makes you that way when you're driving...or are you that way in all walks of life?

Funny thing is, I come to work today and there in my pile of "things you may want to use for your show" is this article from the Northamptonshire Telegraph

If you’re sitting in traffic and some guy in an expensive car rolls up next to you, and wants to cut in, do you wave him in?

For a LOT of people, the answer is . . . NO.

A survey found more than a quarter of people won’t wave in a BMW driver in traffic.  They also don’t like being polite to people driving other expensive brands, like Land Rover and Mercedes.

But we don’t just discriminate against cars.  Three out of four people say they wouldn’t wave someone in if the person was using their cell phone . . . half wouldn’t if they were eating . . . and 6% wouldn’t if their car was dirty.

And 18% of people won’t let busses merge in front of them.

Your thoughts are welcome!
