Libraries Offer FREE Eclipse Glasses
How awesome is this?
On August 21, hundreds of thousands of visitors will flock to tiny towns around Idaho to check out one of the biggest events of our lifetime: a total solar eclipse that can be seen from coast to coast in the United States.
In order to enjoy the eclipse safely...you can purchase some special glasses -OR- you can get them for free.
Libraries around the country are hooking people up with FREE glasses to view the solar eclipse, without burning your corneas.
According to KTVB, the libraries have partnered with Star_Net, an organization that provides interactive STEM exhibits, programming, and training to public libraries nationwide.
August 1 is when you can start getting your glasses at Idaho libraries. The following locations will carry them.
Boise City Library - Downtown
Garden City Library
Eagle Library
Ada Community Library
Meridian Library - Silverstone Branch
Kuna Library
Nampa Public Library
Caldwell Public LIbrary
Patricia Romanko Public Library - Parma
Don't think you need them? Think again.
According to KTVB, "medical experts say failing to wear the special glasses when looking at the sun could cause irreparable damage to your eyes."
